Davao Crocodile Park & People's Park - Sunday November 18th
Sunday November 18th was another really beautiful day! Every weekend so far has been amazing, sunny with lovely weather. There has been some rainfall, but never enough to dampen a whole day.
We got up early and off we went to Davao Crocodile Park.
So many crocodiles, everywhere!
It was kind of like a mini zoo. We saw a plethora of animals! Crocodiles, koi, guinea pigs (I miss my girls), tigers, a bearcat even, just to name a few.
You're asking yourself if I talked to any of them? Of course I did!! One cannot go see animals and not talk to them! (No Chris, no ducks laughed at me this time!)
You can even feed some animals. We chose to feed the koi. Even before purchasing food to feed them, they had been following Chichi around. It was really cute.
At the crocodile farm they also have restos. A few of them were closed, but I was able to get some crocodile ice cream. Chichi is lactose intolerant, he has to be very selective of what dairy products he eats (if he eats any), just to be safe he didn't take any.
They told us the ice cream is made with crocodile eggs! I chose Crocodile Durian, because durian everything MMMmmmm!
The ice cream didn't taste any differently, but I did poop more later that day and the next, so maybe there really were eggs in that ice cream...raw eggs.. 😶.
The crocodile resto that Chichi wanted to eat at, had unfortunately reached their quota of the month, so they were serving everything but crocodile meat.
Chichi has had some in the past and was very eager to have me taste it, but it was not to be.
We did find and purchase a jar of poop coffee and so he wasn't all that disheartened.
Since there was no crocodile meat, off we went on a little detour to satisfy our hunger! We stopped off at G Mall (Gaisano Mall), for a quick bite and a little tour since it was our first time there. We decided on Pepper Lunch, a Japanese resto, it was tasty grub! I've just found out there's one in Abreeza mall, I will be going often *nods*
Our next stop, People's park!
Chichi being an avid PoGo player had been told of 2 parks that are really good spots to play at. People's park and San Pedro park, but we never made it to San Pedro's park.
People's park is a very large park, lots of huge trees, there's even a pond of cichlids! It also has lots of pokestops, it is indeed a good spot for PoGo!
We decided to do a few of raids while there, so off we went to the closest gym on the outskirts of the park. It was a level 5 raid, but with only 3 accounts (Chichi has 2 phones) it would have been impossible to take down. Still we went in hopes of finding other players who might do the raid. There are other players of PoGo here, because they take down gyms, but we've never seen them do raids. We got to the gym early and were waiting to for the egg to hatch, Chichi keeping an eye open for potential raiders, he leans in and says to me "do you think that one with two phones might be one?". Only one way to find out! I walk over, ask the guy if he's playing PoGo. He is! Awesome! And he's waiting for more players? Even better!
He ("Tor") explained to us that all the players create private groups when raiding because they raid by team colour. Each team has a messenger account, but since he was Instinct and I'm Valor (Chichi has 1 instinct account, but doesn't have messenger) he couldn't add me to the team raid chat. He did invite us to raid with them, regardless of our teams and added me to the Legendary Raid group, where all teams chat together. He also mentioned that if ever we'd like to do raids again, to just ask him. PoGo, creating opportunities to meet people and make friends! Tor is a really nice guy! Since they were going to another raid a little ways away, he invited us to come along. Off we went!
We had a really fun time! Made a local friend and got some legendary monsters to boot~!
Coming back to our room after a long day out, we were welcomed with a tray of healthy treats. Grapes and pomelo~ Miam miam!
